Awards
The OKACTE Guidance Division is proud to have the opportunity to recognize its members and others for their excellence through several awards. Those are: McCharen Award of Merit, New Professional Award, Friends of Guidance Award, Outstanding Educator, Kaleidoscope Award, and the Silver Key Award. Each summer Guidance Division members are selected to receive these OkACTE Awards based on their professional and personal accomplishments. All nomination forms are in .pdf format.
McCharen Award of Merit
The McCharen award is presented to an individual OkACTE Guidance Member that makes consistent contributions to the advancement of career guidance/counseling during the year. McCharen nomination form.
New Professional Award
The award will be given to an individual who has been a primary member of the Guidance division no less than two, but no more than five years. The nominee must not have previously attended an ACTE Convention. New Professional Award nomination form.
Friends of Guidance Award
This award is for person(s) who have provided strong support for guidance and counseling but are not members of the OkACTE Guidance Division. Friends of Guidance Award nomination form.
Outstanding Educator
Guidance members who are currently employed as full-time baccalaureate career and technology education teacher educators, administrators, career guidance counselors, program specialists and other individuals involved in career and technology education other than full-time classroom teachers are eligible recipients for this award. Outstanding Educator nomination form.
Kaleidoscope Award
The Kaleidoscope Award has been established to recognize those entities that embrace and promote diversity. Kaleidoscope Award nomination form.
Silver Key Award
The award is given to those who have served in career and technology education for 25 years and also have been a member of ACTE and respective state and divisional associations for 25 years. Silver Key Award nomination form.

Award winner works to implement processes and activities aimed at developing, improving, and promoting awareness of and opportunities for integrating multiculturalism, gender equity, and those with physical disabilities into career and technology education programs.
